Contact Lenses Can Help Correct Common Vision Problems like Astigmatism and Presbyopia

Common Vision Correction Needs & Common Ocular Symptoms

Common Vision Problems

Tired of bifocals?

Hold the book up close and the words appear blurred. Push the book farther away, and the words snap back into sharp focus.

That's how most of us first recognize a condition that eye care professionals call presbyopia, a name derived from Greek words meaning "old eye." Eye fatigue or headaches when doing close work such as sewing, knitting or painting, are also common symptoms. Because it is associated with aging, presbyopia is often met with a groan - and an expectation that reading glasses or bifocals are inevitable.

Until recently this was true, however, AIR OPTIX® AQUA MULTIFOCAL contact lenses provide crisp, clear vision at all distances for those with presbyopia*. CIBA VISION® also offers DAILIES® Progressives contact lenses – the first daily disposable contact lenses for bifocal wearers.

Want your eyes to feel more healthy and comfortable?

Your eyes need oxygen to stay healthy and comfortable. But soft contact lenses create a barrier to the natural flow of oxygen between your eyes and the air around them. Without enough oxygen, you might experience symptoms such as end-of-day discomfort, irritation, dryness and redness.

AIR OPTIX® AQUA contact lenses- A breathable* contact lens made from a state-of-the-art material that delivers up to five times more oxygen through the lens than traditional contact lenses – for healthy-looking and healthy-feeling eyes. They also retain moisture and resist deposits for comfortable wear all day long – every day, even for up to one month.

Play Sports?

When you're working your muscles outside in the pulsating heat – whether you're hitting a tennis ball across a bright, squint-inducing court, mountain biking or sending a baseball sky high into left field – you shouldn't have to worry about your glasses.

Glasses may help you see clearly, but they also have a tendency to break and/or shift position on your face, easily fog up on humid days, may add a distracting glare and inevitably add to the sweaty trickles already running down your face.

  • Contact lenses do not fog up.
  • Contact lenses won't slide down your nose during that essential play.
  • Contact lenses will give you vision free from the glare you may experience with glasses.

And as any sports enthusiast knows, contact lenses provide unobstructed peripheral vision, resulting in optimal sports performance.

Contact lenses, however are not a substitute for eye protection. It is recommended to wear appropriate goggles, masks, etc. when doing sports.

They are daily disposable soft contact lens that feature our unique Triple-Action Moisture for refreshing comfort all day, every day. Eye Allergies?

Keep your contact lenses – even with allergies and hay fever.

Allergy season is a real challenge. No matter what the cause, seasonal ocular allergies can make your eyes hypersensitive and irritated. Ordinary soft contact lenses may make them feel even worse. Instead of reaching for your glasses in frustration, ask your eye care professional about DAILIES® AquaComfort Plus® contact lenses. The daily disposable contact lenses are an ideal option for people with seasonal eye allergies because one-day use reduces the chance of build-up of pollen and other deposits.

To help prevent eye allergies avoid touching or rubbing your eyes and regularly wash your hands with soap and water. The best defense is to avoid allergens whenever you can. If that isn't possible, talk to your eye care professional about over-the-counter or prescription treatments, like antihistamines or decongestants.

Do you have Astigmatism?

Astigmatism occurs when the cornea, the front surface of the eye, has an irregular curvature that results in blurred vision at any distance. Thanks to innovative technology in contact lenses, astigmatism no longer limits your ability to wear contact lenses.

CIBA VISION® offers many contact lenses for the correction of astigmatism including AIR OPTIX® for ASTIGMATISM monthly replacement contact lenses, DAILIES® Toric daily disposable contact lenses, and FreshLook® Colorblends® Toric contact lenses. With this wide range of choices, there is a toric lens available for almost any contact lens preference.
